Burlington Penguin Plunge
Saturday, February 1, 2020 • Burlington Waterfront Park
The Special Olympics Vermont Penguin Plunge is a unique winter event where participants raise funds to take a dip in Vermont’s icy lakes.
The 25th Annual Burlington Penguin Plunge starts at 12:00pm noon, on February 1, with over 1,300 participants plunging into Lake Champlain’s icy waters! This event helps to raise awareness and critical funds for Special Olympics Vermont. We hope you will join us! The event series supports sports training and competition, health screenings, and leadership opportunities for children and adults with intellectual disabilities in Vermont. Today, Special Olympics Vermont serves 1,310 athletes (people with ID) and 400 Unified partners (people without ID who train and compete with Special Olympics athletes) offering thirteen sports and nine state-wide competitions each year. Thank you to our loyal event sponsors, donors, and most importantly, our Plungers for supporting the Special Olympics movement and building inclusive communities.
